Business Units by erptree

A business unit is the part of a big corporate which works independently and performs many common and distinct functions. It can come under business hierarchy depending on the size and management control. Usually there is one senior manager to handle the business unit. Different business units may have their separate profit and loss account. They make their plans and strategies separately. They are the owners of their units and only get supervision from the mother firm. There may be information which is required only by one business unit and others have nothing to do with it. Oracle Fusion Financial gives unit level access to enhance the productivity of the business and reduce the server overloading.

It offers the general and sub ledger level transactions for business units. One user of any particular business unit may not get access of the other unit’s details. Only there can be some common data which are shared by all the business units. The central user can set the transactional level authority of all the business units. One unit will be responsible for the transactions in their unit only.

There may be cases when multiple business units have same ledger but in no case one business unit can have multiple ledgers. But the sole authority will be vested with the parent company only. They can access the entire information as an integrated view as well as particular view. Oracle Fusion Financial offers the business units to set their transaction limits and options. Options chosen by one unit may not apply to other. They make the financial transactions secure in the Oracle Fusion Financial and help in improving the productivity.

Creating a business unit is the authority of the central location. Business units may have different sizes and nature of work. Occasionally companies create a second company as a business unit to make the transactions separately.
